Hard-to-classify Austin band The Point. announces Maldito Animal (Deluxe Edition) today, alongside a new single "Itis."
Maldito Animal was a self-released 2024 cult hit, selling out almost immediately. Keeled Scales is partnering with Spaceflight Records on an exclusive Tequila Sunrise pressing of the record (limited to only 400 copies).
The Austin trio effortlessly fuses world music like cumbia, afrobeat, dub, and tropicalia into psychedelic, jam-adjacent nuggets that keep crowds moving. One of the best live bands in Austin, they've recently returned from a European tour, with dates next month supporting Mdou Moctar and Pavement. In October they'll play Austin City Limits Music Festival.
