Hiding Places Announce Signing To Keeled Scales, Release New Single

Today, Brooklyn-based indie rockers Hiding Places release new single "Holy Roller," and announce signing to Keeled Scales with an album for release in spring 2026.

"'Holy Roller' was a lesson for me, a song that happened with no planning, no ‘trying to write,’ a pure, detached channeling," lead vocalist and contributing songwriter, Audrey Keelin says.

Hiding Places, now a four-piece consisting of Audrey Keelin, Henry Cutting, Nicholas Byrne, and Michael Matsakis, started as an almost tradition-like practice; meeting in rural Georgia for a week or two at a time to record and write; to open themselves up to songs that would visit and hone their technical ability to capture them.

"One morning, I started playing the guitar and a chorus came out: 'I'm a holy roller, I move too much, if the floor is burning, I climb up.' I liked that. So I recorded it on my phone and also excitedly shared it with two of my best friends," Keelin says.

Originally from Asheville, NC and Athens, GA, Hiding Places has established itself as a true band by way of always writing and recording collaboratively. The strength and comfort of their personal relationships flow seamlessly into their creative process, laying the foundation of closeness and mutual support that makes for a wholly refined sound where every part stands in its own strength while painting the most beautiful, sometimes gritty, bigger picture.
