Common Holly Shares New Single "Dyson," Announces New EP Out February 27th

Today, Montreal-based songwriter Common Holly releases "Dyson," her single about all the places where one waits, and announces a new EP, They will draw halos around our heads, due out February 27th via Keeled Scales and Paper Bag Records.

Following last year’s critically acclaimed LP, Anything glass, Common Holly expands upon her gentle, delicate, and whimsical universe with a collection that highlights her signature introspective and perceptive lyricism, evocative vocals, and soft, understated instrumentation.

The lead single, "Dyson," departs from Common Holly's typical songwriting approach, taking on a more casual and cheeky lyrical tone.

"Listening back I have the sense that I must have been listening to Jonathan Richman the day I wrote this," she explains. "I wrote it in about 5 minutes, sitting by the window, waiting for my Dyson. I was thinking about Beckett and God and the dust in my house, about places where we wait— Montrealers will know all about the SAAQ, our finest purgatory!"

“Dyson” carries a playful, lighthearted energy, anchored by simple yet effective lyricism that recalls the warmth and intimacy of artists like Kimya Dawson or Frankie Cosmos.

A quiet force, Common Holly creates immersive sonic worlds that invite listeners to slow down and consider a gentler perspective—one that reminds us of what truly matters.

They will draw halos around our heads follows on February 27th via Keeled Scales and Paper Bag Records.
