Brice Randall Bickford has been touring and making music for over 15 years. He released four albums as The Strugglers and toured the US and Europe consistently before deciding to shed that moniker and play under his own name.

On February 24, 2017 we helped release PARO on vinyl to a wider audience. It's the second album he's released under his own name and it quietly self-released in 2016 around the time that Bickford and his wife welcomed their first child.

Bickford recorded the album with producer Scott Solter (The Mountain Goats, Spoon, Superchunk) and it features arrangements and keyboards by Alex Lazara and guitar by Ash Bowie (of Polvo).

The word paro means labor strike in Spanish and the album explores themes such as humanity's tendency toward greed, control over others, systems of government, and the consequences of the adoption of agriculture. It's a complex, literary album with bright, subtle arrangements. A true slow-burn that reveals with each repeated listen.

There'll be some tour dates on the East Coast in the fall of 2017, so stay tuned.
